Advocacy

Do you know many children struggle to learn because of their Learning Difficulties? According to a 2017 report by UNICEF Ghana, seven out of 10 Ghanaian children in primary three can barely read and write although they should be able to.

Ghana's Ministry of Education launched an Inclusive Education Policy in 2016 to remove barriers for all learners with special educational needs (SEN), including children with Learning Difficulties.

This policy is yet to be fully implemented to meet the educational needs of diverse learners in mainstream basic schools. SAP's advocacy campaign is directed towards getting the Inclusive Education Policy fully implemented:

Campaigning for Inclusion            Training on Children's Rights

Promoting the Inclusive Education Policy            Sensitising parents
